Youth Counselling Program

Young people who are experiencing social, emotional and or relationship difficulties will benefit from the Youth Counselling Program.  Counsellors believe that all young people need a connection to family or other positive role models to help them mature.  This link is vital in order to provide guidance, direction and nurturing.  Supporting young people will in turn lead to healthy relationships and mature adults.  Counsellors realize the needs and concerns of youth are much different than those of adults and younger children, and support will include measures to deal with these differences.  The goals of the Youth Counselling Program are to support and assist adolescents:

  • in reconciling relationships with their parents.
  • in their transition from home to independent living.
  • in crisis situations to minimize disruption to their lives.

The Youth Counselling Program is available to young people living in Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox & Addington.  United Way funding allows K3C to offer this program to youth and their families at an affordable rate.  Group sessions are also available.
